Hive is a reverse proxy server that passes requests from client browsers to a Cluster of back-end web servers. It communicates with its monitoring programs residing on each back-end server to achieve PRECISE load-balancing. Hive Load Balancer is efficient, transparent and easy to use. The program itself uses Little system resource. The Hive/BEE (Server/Client) resource monitoring mechanism ensures the best overall performance of the servers. The balancer does a fairly good job in hiding itself. It convinces the back-end servers it IS the real client. In addition, all replies sent from back-end servers to client browsers are untouched by the balancer, including HTML files.
